Is the MERLOT color more red than wine color?

BEST ANSWER: I got the spruce & dark purple. They were true to the colors in the photos, but look a little lighter because of the way the light reflects on them and the light colored threads mixed in.

more of the wine color, can appear to be deep red in some indoor light. In the outdoors the color is wine

No, it does not, and for this reason, I don't wear it very often. Unless I'm wearing a "satiny" top, it's hard to put on.
