I bought an insulated vest back in September of last year. I would guess this would be available for the Fall season. If you get the catalogs as I do you can check what is currently offered. Vests are definitely a seasonal thing as I have searched and as well bought many over the years at various times of the year. Depending upon weather the lightness or heaviness seems to follow the time of the year. Hope this helps you.

I I am right in the middle of a medium and large size. which is a 41" or 42" chest. What would you recommend . Medium or large?

BEST ANSWER: Definitely go with the large. It gives you a little more choice what your base covering will be and I found these vests to be a little small to my personal liking.

Since this vest is pretty true to size, I would buy the large size. That way, any shirt worn under it wouldn't make the vest too tight.

My chest measures 40" and I have a 33" waist. I bought a medium vest and it fits perfectly. You might consider buying a large.

Does this item shrink when washed? I am afraid it is going to be big, as I would normally be a medium but that size is not available.

BEST ANSWER: I have washed mine(denim variety) only a couple of times and haven't noticed any shrinkage.
However, I let it air dry instead of putting in a dryer.

Have not worn mine enough to wash it, but if it does shrink you'll be in trouble I recommend getting the size up.

I bought two of these for my husband and they come below the waist on him. The measurement of the center back of the vest from the neck collar seam (not including the collar) to the bottom is 28". I hope that helps.

This vest is maybe 3 inches below the waist. The picture in the catalog is close. If you have a long body it may be short. My husband really likes his.
