The ones I received did not appear to be, and there is minimal shrinking when washed.

I am not sure if it is prewashed. I did wash it before it was worn as I do with almost all purchases. I can tell you that it is one of my husband's favorite shirts. It is soft, comfortable, and did not shrink when washed. It also has maintained the original color on each of the three different colors we purchased.
