BEST ANSWER: May be for the waist, in particular. However, the item we ordered had to be returned because of too much fullness through the hip and thigh area. Depends on how an individual wears the item.

Yes, I have at least two pair and they just keep on lasting. The elastic allows for a lot of give for the slight chance we over eat.
