Washable Wool Blanket
Somethings mixed in the wool.
The blanket arrived and I was disappointed when I opened the package. There were many small white strings dispersed thought the blanket. I pull one off and found that it was quite hard, plastic like and then pulled off another which was softer. My purple wool blanket clearly had something mixed in with it. It is advertised as 100 % wool but with this white string dispersed through I'm not so sure. The label says it's made in China.

disappointed, too fragile, too large
I bought a queen size last Christmas and I was raving about how great the one I have for many years. Well, you have made it different. The quality has changed. Please go back to the original way you made it when it first came out in early 2002 I think it was. My full size hunter green is still lasting strong, I have washed it in cold water several times and its sturdy. This new one I bought is too fragile, a hole was made and it spread to 3 feet. Sorry for me, now I see why ppl had been complaining. I was able to sew it up on my machine, but its too fragile and too large. Its more like a king size.

Toasty WARM 100% wool blanket...very cozy
Oh...yummmy! We have been using ours for two winters. I was worried about the initial washing. Purchased a King even though have Queen sized bed. Because of tendency of natural fibers to shrink. Used cold water, but wool 'felts' in hot dryers normally. This did shrink up some. But it did NOT felt. Whew! I was relieved. It is still large enough for our needs. But do buy larger than bed size, unless you plan to dry clean. Nothing defective about this...it is normal for genuine wool. Color fast. All perfect. Remember too this is wool...so scratchy. We use flannel sheets so is does not itch. Actually have a light cotton waffle-weave layer in between, so IF the wool is too warm for that particular night we can throw it back for awhile till we need it later in the night. I love the natural camel color...blends with everything very nicely.

Shedding and Odor
I should have paid more attention to the reviews. The shedding, even after 2 washings, is incredible. Not only that, but I still cannot get rid of the chemical odor. I have the Latte so I don't know if all colors are the same. On the positive side, it is lightweight but warm. Sadly, I certainly would not purchase another one.

Half the blanket washed away
This blanket, which I bought for my mom for Christmas, lost half of its fibers when she washed it. The lint was in huge piles, one from the washer and one from the dryer. Junk! I believe Blair sells only junk and will not be shopping here again.

I was really looking forward to this blanket. They looked so good in the catalog and online. However, when the first one came (latte) I kept it. I found that the stitches of the satin to the blanket were poorly done. Almost like basting stitches. I kept the blanket anyway but when the red one came, I returned it and also cancelled the eggplant on backorder. This blanket could have been a best-seller with better construction.

I bought a full/queen size in Hunter and have it for over 9 yrs...it cost me $39 back then. It is the warmest blanket we own. I washed it for the first time this fall. COLD water, LINE dry, no problems. I just ordered another one in Latte with a 30% off free ship still a great buy. Its cold outside and I love that it is warm and washable wool.

It sheds terrible and has a horrible odor. Washed it right out of the package because it smelled so bad. It pilled and shed so bad I had to keep cleaning out my filter numerous times. It still smells but it does keep you warm. I chose latte color so it may be the color that smells. It looks ok so I wouldn't tell anyone else not to buy it because everyone has different opinions on smells. I just have a very sensitive nose.
